Main problems with :

req: search reads each ticket file - too slow for us - even slower than rtt’s link indices, mails copied into files not preserved as files

(asked author about search - said no)

rust: developer not happy with req so wote rust- similar, not as powerful, still under development.

GNATS:

big source (300k of C!),

good db search

mail details read into system but mails not stored

requester gets emailed on state changes and must OK closure
