What about the reverse tree?
The reverse tree in v4 (i.e. in-addr.arpa) is used for various debugging and logging purposes.
- there are also some (broken) security schemes that require reverse mappings for nodes
For this reason the v4 reverse tree is sometimes populated by bulk entries
- i.e. the important thing is to have something there, not exactly what this something is
This doesn’t work for v6. So what should we do?
