Why IPv6 for 3G?
There is some talk that IPv6 is mandatory in 3G
- Not quite yet, but soon
- Perhaps in IP multimedia subsystem
While perhaps not being mandatory, it’s very very nice for operators
- We can address terminals
- Has some nice features
- Good mobile IP support
- IPSEC
- Autoconfiguration
- Anycast
Enables (eventually) clear end-to-end communication
